Stanley Park Causeway Pedestrian & Cycling Safety Improvements
Location of Project: Stanley Park | Vancouver, BC
Date: November, 2015 to February, 2016
MRC Total Build has been contracted by the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure to upgrade the pedestrian and cycling pathways through the main roadway of Stanley Park. The project needs stemmed from pedestrian and cycling safety issues that have occurred. Project constraints required all work to be done at night and detailed traffic and environmental management plans to be implemented early in the process before any work began. This highly sensitive project has resulted in a widening of the pedestrian and cycling pathways and the installation of a one of a kind modular cable fencing from Lost Lagoon to the Lions Gate Bridge that acts as a physical safety barrier between traffic and pedestrians/cyclists.
