Abbotsford Airport Terminal Upgrade & Expansion

MRC Total Build was hired by the City of Abbotsford in April 2018 to complete the renovation and expansion of the Abbotsford International Airport. The project stemmed from the Airport’s need for additional space due to increase of passengers to 1,000,000 per year and addition of the Swoop airline. The project included 14,000 sq. feet of new airport terminal space using a Pre-Engineered Steel building and timber structure consisting of CLT panels and Glulam columns and beams, as well as a renovation to the existing customs building space that included seismic and cosmetic upgrades. Exterior works include security fencing, storm and sanitary, curb and gutter, and removal and reinstatement of the passenger loading bridge.
